Under new management, we will come back soon
Steve's Story
"Although I bought La Baudiere (as a virtual ruin!) in 2000, I was only able to spend a few weeks a year here until 2007, when I gave up my job and moved here full time.
Restoring the property and grounds has been a labour of love and I now at last enjoy sharing my beautiful home with my partner, Sue, our Bernese Mountain dog Bruno, our families and friends
and the many guests who book to stay each summer."

Where we are
La Baudiere is located in a very tranquil, rural setting in the beautiful historical Loire region.
All amenities are close by and driving here from the UK can easily be achieved within a day.
Three airports are in easy reach and travelling by car via a variety of channel crossing points is
straight-forward. If you would like some help choosing your best route, do please contact us.
We are situated close to the historical medieval village of Faye la Vineuse
with its 9th century church and Agnes's "Epicerie"
which is the village's post office/grocery/bakery depot/shop.
We're just ten minutes drive from the small town of Richelieu,
the home of our favourite restaurant, Auberge le Cardinal.
There are several beautiful walking and cycling routes for you to explore in this area too,
suitable for all ages as our countryside is softly rolling with lots of cart tracks.
You'll have plenty of opportunities to see local wildlife such as deer, hares, wild boar
and a wide range of bird life
